Esta publicación vuelve a ponerse a disposición de todos los jumillanos y de quienes
nos visitan para que puedan disfrutar de nuestra Semana Santa. Recogemos aquí, con
detalle, los actos y procesiones que representan nuestra tradición, religiosidad popular
que complementa la celebración litúrgica de la Pascua.
Al celebrar la Semana Santa, no sólo recordamos que Jesucristo murió por nosotros y
para nuestra salvación, sino que lo hacemos presente en un espacio y un tiempo con-
creto, aquí y ahora.
Invito a todos a ser actores y no espectadores, es decir a entender y comprender lo
que estamos celebrando. La motivación interior nos hará disfrutar estos días con toda
intensidad.

Once again, this publication is at the disposal of all the people in Jumilla, as well as all who visit us
during these days, to enjoy our Semana Santa. Acts and processions are gathered therein at detail; they
represent our tradition and popular religiosity, which complement the liturgical celebration of Easter.
When we celebrate Semana Santa, we not only reminisce that Jesus Christ died for all of us and for
our salvation, but we are also making Him present in a specific space and time, here and now.
I would like to invite everybody to become actors and not only specta-
tors of this, that is, to realice and understand what we are celebrating. Our in-
ner motivation will make us enjoy these days with full intensity.

La tarde es dueña del Cristo Amarrado a la Columna que baja
del Monasterio un año más, desde 1886. El padre Guardián
lo despide en Santa Ana, la gente se lo arrebata y lo baja a la
ciudad, por riguroso turno de anderos. Toda Jumilla se acerca a
la ermita de San Agustín a recibir a su Cristo. Autoridades, clero
y pueblo lo trasladan a la Parroquia Mayor de Santiago.
In the evening, the protagonist is the “Cristo Amarrado a la Columna” (Christ
tied to the flagellation column), who is carried from the Santa Ana Monastery,
as every year since 1886. The guardian of the convent says goodbye to him,
