ENERO 46 INFANTIL KINDERGARTEN DISEÑAMOS NUESTRO BELÉN En 1º crearon varios belenes de forma colaborativa reutilizando materiales, concienciándose además de la importancia de reducir y reciclar. WE DESIGNED OUR NATIVITY SCENE 1st Kindergarten students created some nativity scenes in a collaborative way reusing materials. They become aware of the importance of reducing and recycling.
ENERO 46 INFANTIL KINDERGARTEN SEMÁFORO DE LA DISCIPLINA Con esta actividad, los niños reflexionan acerca de su comportamiento y a su vez analizan si cumplen los acuerdos esenciales. A TRAFFIC LIGHT TO BE DISCIPLINED Doing this activity, children reflect on their behaviour and analyse if they fulfil the key agreements.
ENERO 46 INFANTIL KINDERGARTEN EL ESPEJO Hablándose en él, desarrollan la inteligencia emocional mediante el diálogo interior, así se forman como alumnos equilibrados. THE MIRROR Speaking in front of the mirror, they develop emotional intelligence through an “inner dialogue”. They are also formed as balanced students.
ENERO 46 INFANTIL KINDERGARTEN LA GRANJA EN CUENTO Todo Infantil vivió una jornada de cuento que concluyó con los alumnos descubriendo los animales de la granja en este cubo cuenta- cuentos. A STORY ABOUT THE FARM Kindergarten students experienced a fantastic day. It finished with a story about the farm animals using a storyteller cube.
ENERO 46 PRIMARIA PRIMARY TEST DE ORIENTACIÓN En 3º y 6º los realizaron para valorar sus aptitudes intelectuales, así como la atención, lectura, personalidad y motivación. GUIDANCE DEPARTMENT TEST The guiding did some test to 3rd and 6th graders to evaluate their intellectual skills, as well as attention, reading, personality and motivation.
ENERO 46 PRIMARIA PRIMARY VAREANDO OLIVOS Los alumnos de primer ciclo vivieron en primera persona esta actividad y descubrieron la importancia del tratamiento posterior de la aceituna. KNOCKING DOWN OLIVE TREES 1st and 2nd grade students experienced this activity and discovered the process of the olive to be eaten or transformed into olive oil.
ENERO 46 ESO MIDDLE ACCIÓN SOLIDARIA Gracias a la colaboración de nuestra comunidad educativa, recogimos 10 palés llenos de alimentos no perecederos para Cáritas Boadilla. ACCIÓN SOLIDARIA We sent 10 pallets full of non-perishable food to Caritas Boadilla. We collected the food thanks to the aid of our educational community.

MAKING COMPOST FOR THE GARDEN The process to create organic fertiliser has started. We have filled the compost cubes with plant waste and organic matter.
ENERO 46 BACHILLERATO BACCALAUREATE ¡AL LABORATORIO DE BIOLOGÍA! A través de la cromatografía separaron los distintos pigmentos vegetales de hojas de espinaca: clorofila A y B, xantófilas y carotenos. EXPERIMENTING IN THE BIOLOGY LAB! They did chromatography to separate the different vegetable pigments from the spinach leaves: chlorophyll a and b, xanthophylls and carotenes.
ENERO 46 BACHILLERATO BACCALAUREATE TURISMO EN FRANCIA Realizaron folletos informativos sobre estancias lingüísticas en el país vecino y así fomentamos la interculturalidad y mentalidad abierta. TOURISM IN FRANCE They produced brochures about language programmes in the neighbouring country to ensure that they are interculturally aware and globally minded.

on this project”.ENERO 46 Carmen Garcés y Daniela Moro son dos alumnas de 2º ESO que se presentaron junto a otros 1.896 alumnos de la Comunidad de Madrid al concurso “¿Qué es un Rey para mí?”, que cumplía su 39ª edición. Para participar, tuvieron que realizar un proyecto en el que expusieron, desde un punto de vista creativo, qué significa la figura de D. Felipe VI. Sus trabajos fueron elegidos entre los 40 finalistas y ahora nos cuentan cómo fue el proceso creativo. Carmen Garcés and Daniela Moro, who are studying 8th grade, participated in a contest called “What is a King for me?”. 1.896 students from Madrid were involved in the 39th edition. To participate, they had to make a design in which they explained the job done by Mr. Felipe VI. They finished at the top 40 and now, they are telling us about the creative process.
ENERO 46 ¿En qué consistían vuestros trabajos? Carmen: Utilizando cartulina dibujé un árbol cuyas raíces estaban creadas con la palabra rey, pues para mí es quien sujeta a España. Luego cada rama llevaba escrito lo que representa el rey: cultura, concordia, ejército, valores, unidad, derecho y comercio. Y debajo de ese dibujo escribí mis reflexiones sobre lo que representa un rey. Daniela: Mi proyecto simulaba la corona del rey. Esta se iba abriendo y dentro de cada apartado de la corona iba la información: qué es un rey, qué es un rey para mí, sus funciones, sus poderes, por qué tenemos rey en España y, por último, los reyes de España en la historia.
ENERO 46 Tell me about your work. Carmen: I drew a tree in a cardboard whose roots were designed with the word king, because from my point of view he is the one that puts Spain together. What’s more, each branch had written words that represents the king: culture, concord, army, values, unity, law and trade. I have also reflected on what a king represents and, after that, I wrote a text. Daniela: My work pretended to be the king’s crown. When it was opened, each crown section had information such as: what is a King, what is a king for me, his role, the executive branch, why Spain has a King and, the history of kings in Spain.
ENERO 46 ¿En qué os inspirasteis? Carmen: Me inspiré en lo que nos rodea en el día a día. Para mí fue algo fácil de representar porque las raíces soportan todo el peso del árbol y quise mostrar, que el rey es quien nos ayuda y sustenta, y sus valores. Daniela: Yo me inspiré en la figura del rey y lo representé en una corona. Para conectar la información y darle un toque creativo escribí la información obtenida en las piezas de la corona. What inspired you? Carmen: I was inspired by what is around us every day. It is easy to represent since the roots support all the weight of the tree as the king does. I wanted to show that the king helps and sustains us, and his values. Daniela: I was inspired by the king’s leading figure and I represented him in a crown. I wrote the information in the pieces of the crown, connecting the information with a creative point of view.
ENERO 46 ¿Qué habéis aprendido con este proyecto? Carmen: He logrado representar un tema de mucha importancia de una forma muy concreta, resumiendo bien la información. Con este proyecto creo que hemos sido indagadores porque tuvimos que investigar sobre el Rey. Daniela: He aprendido muchas cosas sobre el Rey, qué hace y lo importante que es para el país. He tenido mentalidad abierta porque he adquirido nuevos conocimientos sobre nuestra cultura y D. Felipe VI, he desarrollado mi creatividad y he sido buena comunicadora al organizar y comunicar bien la información a través de mi proyecto. What did you learn by doing this project? Carmen: I learnt to be concrete explaining an important issue. In my view we have been inquirers because we had to research about the King. Daniela: I learnt many things about the King, his job and his importance for the country. I have been open-minded because I’ve read up on our culture and Mr. Felipe VI. I have developed my creativity. I have also been a good Communicator, organizing and communicating efficiently the information.
ENERO 46 ¿Qué es lo que más os ha gustado? Carmen: Me ha gustado pasar un rato investigando y descubriendo muchas cosas nuevas que no sabía. Ahora sé la verdadera importancia que tiene el Rey en España. Daniela: La búsqueda de información, pero sobre todo la parte de creación de la corona. What did you like most about this contest? Carmen: I have enjoyed the time doing research and discovering things. Now I know the importance of the King in Spain. Daniela: I like the process of searching for information, but above all, what I like the most it was creating the crown.
ENERO 46 ¿Qué consejo le daríais a los compañeros que se presenten a la siguiente edición? Daniela: Yo le diría que fuese creativo, piense a lo grande, que no intente hacer lo mismo que todo el mundo, sino que piense diferente y que investigue mucho. Carmen: Al fin y al cabo no todos vemos las mismas cosas desde el mismo punto de vista, así que sobre todo, que sean originales. Y ganen o pierdan, que aprendan haciendo el trabajo. Give some advice to your classmates for the next edition Daniela: Be creative, think outside the box and don’t think the same as everyone else. So, think in a different way and do a good research. Carmen: I think we don’t see the same things as other people. We have different points of view, so be original. It doesn’t matter if you win or lose, you must learn by doing the work.
