(UIAA)
La International Mountaineering and Climbing Federation (UIAA) reúne a millones de
material escaladaclimbing gear
hombres, mujeres y niños unidos por su pasión por la montaña.
La UIAA promueve el crecimiento y la protección del alpinismo y la escalada en todo
el mundo a través de:
· preservar el espíritu y las tradiciones
· mejorar las prácticas de montaña seguras y éticas
· promover el acceso responsable, la cultura y la protección del medio ambiente
· el apoyo a la participación juvenil y el movimiento olímpico
La UIAA cumple con su misión principalmente a través del trabajo de sus comisiones,
que hacen recomendaciones basadas en su política establecida y trabajos en nombre
de la comunidad del alpinismo.
La Comisión de Seguridad de la UIAA trabaja en estrecha colaboración con la indus-
tria para desarrollar estándares para minimizar los accidentes causados por fallos
en el equipo. Un producto certificado como equipo de montañismo o alpinismo
lleva una etiqueta de seguridad UIAA, que indica la conformidad del equipo con los
estándares de la UIAA.

The UIAA fulfils its Mission Statement mainly through the work of its commissions,
which make recommendations, set policy and advocate on behalf of the mountai-
neering community.
The UIAA Safety Commission works closely with the industry to develop standards
to minimize accidents caused by equipment failure. A certified piece of mountai-
neering or climbing equipment carries a UIAA Safety Label, which indicates the
equipment’s compliance with UIAA standards.
