SUBJECT: 2021 Vein Week project report
From April 5 to 11, health and non-health professionals from all around the world gather together in virtual
form to enhance venous and lymphatic disease management, during the “Vein Week” no profit global
project. The initiative was initiated by the venous-lymphatic World International Network (v-WIN) foundation
and designed by a dedicated steering committee of both top vein experts and institutional representatives,
coming from all around the world, with gender equality representation.
A dedicated interactive geo-localization software was created and made available for free to all the ones
interested in uploading regionally developed no profit educational activities, during the same Vein Week
(https://veinweek.vwinfoundation.com).
The RATIONALE of the project is to increase the currently lacking venous-lymphatic awareness, during the
already existing Health Week (April 5-11).
The VISION is to teamwork among multi-specialty health and non-health professionals around the world,
delivering a united message in support of proper venous-lymphatic care.
The MISSION is accomplished by following a common calendar, in which every local reality develops its own
initiatives, while sharing them with the rest of the world. The detailed project is available in the dedicated

The five main ENDPOINTS of the project were:
1. to improve venous-lymphatic patients care.
2. to report the importance of Venous-Lymphatic disease to health institutions.
3. to empower local realities, making their valuable initiatives visible worldwide.
4. to enhance global public venous-lymphatic awareness.
5. to foster networking among different medical specialties and different institutions.
The five main RESULTS of the Vein Week project are:
1. Direct engagement of 114 project developers.
2. Development of 271 events in one week.
3. Engagement of ALL continents, including previously silent regions.
4. In 7 days, 112.729 visualizations,of the events uploaded in the VEIN WEEK MAP, from all continents.
5. Together with many others, among the developed institutional interactions, of particular importance
were the ones with Italian Board of Physicians, the UK parliament group for venous-lymphatic
disease, the Paraguay Ministry of Health, the International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery &
Trauma, the European College of OBGyn.
All the events will remain available in the dedicated website for free.
v-WIN foundation would like to deeply thank the massive number of health and non-health professionals,
together with their local supporters, who have demonstrated the best vocation in increasing venous-
lymphatic awareness.
A particular mention of appreciation goes to the official global partners of the Vein Week project, Alfasigma,
Medi and Philips, for having made the creation of the dedicated platform possible.
The hope is that Vein Week 2021 is just the first step of a long and productive road of teamwork, involving
all the ones interested in taking real action in venous-lymphatic patients care improvement. The wish is that
Vein Week can have brought venous-lymphatic awareness In every week of the year.

ASUNTO: Informe del proyecto Vein Week 2021
Del 5 al 11 de abril, profesionales de la salud y no sanitarios de todo el mundo se reúnen en forma virtual
para aportar sobre el manejo de enfermedades venosas y linfáticas, durante el proyecto global sin fines de
lucro “Vein Week”. La iniciativa fue comenzada por la fundación World International Network (v-WIN) y
diseñada por un comité directivo formado por los mejores expertos en venas y referentes institucionales,
provenientes de todo el mundo, con representación de igualdad de género.
Se creó un software exclusivo de geolocalización interactivo y se lo puso a disposición de forma gratuita
para todos los interesados en cargar actividades educativas sin fines de lucro desarrolladas a nivel regional,
durante la misma Semana de la Vena (https://veinweek.vwinfoundation.com).
El FUNDAMENTO del proyecto es incrementar la conciencia veno-linfática que actualmente falta, durante la
Semana de la Salud ya existente (5-11 de abril).
La VISIÓN es el trabajo en equipo entre los profesionales sanitarios y no sanitarios de múltiples
especialidades de todo el mundo, transmitiendo un mensaje único en apoyo de una atención veno-linfática
adecuada.
La MISIÓN se realiza siguiendo un calendario común, en el que cada realidad local desarrolla sus propias
iniciativas, compartiéndolas con el resto del mundo. El proyecto detallado está disponible en el sitio web

Los cinco principales PUNTOS del proyecto fueron:
1. Mejorar la atención a los pacientes linfáticos-venosos.
2. Informar sobre la importancia de la Enfermedad Veno-Linfática a las instituciones de salud.
3. Potenciar las realidades locales, haciendo visibles sus valiosas iniciativas en todo el mundo.
4. Acrecentar la prevención pública mundial sobre enfermedades linfáticas y venosas.
5. Fomentar el trabajo en red entre diferentes especialidades médicas y diferentes instituciones.
Los cinco RESULTADOS principales del proyecto Vein Week son:
1. Participación directa de 114 desarrolladores de proyectos.
2. Desarrollo de 271 eventos en una semana.
3. Compromiso de TODOS los continentes, incluidas las regiones anteriormente silenciosas.
4. En 7 días, 112.729 visualizaciones de los eventos cargados en el MAPA VEIN WEEK.
5. Junto con muchas otras, entre las interacciones institucionales desarrolladas, de particular importancia
fueron las de la Junta de Médicos de Italia, el grupo del Parlamento del Reino Unido para las enfermedades
veno-linfáticas, el Ministerio de Salud de Paraguay, la Sociedad Internacional de Cirugía Ortopédica y
Trauma, el Colegio Europeo de Obstetricia y Ginecología.
