ALL STUDENTS:
By 6th grade, absenteeism is one of the top signs that a student may drop out of school. By 9th
grade, regular attendance is a better predictor of graduation rates than 8th grade test scores. Join
us in the "Miss School, Miss Out" Campaign, in conjunction with the Regional Office of
Education. Friday be on the lookout for 1 of the 10 "Attendance Rocks" hidden around the school. If
your attendance rate is 90% or better, claim your prize in the attendance office during a passing
period Friday. Good luck!
All students are able to get free breakfast and lunch this school year. Please have your student
ID ready once you receive one. If you would like extras like milk, fruit, or water you will need to
have money on your account. This can be done by having parents/guardians add money to
myschoolbucks (link below).You may also drop off check/cash in the main office in a sealed
envelope with your full name on it. Please note, no change will be given. Please give 24-48
hours to process.

Our first class officer meeting will be held in Ms. Soosh's classroom (W105) on Wednesday,
September 1st from 3-3:20.
SOPHOMORES:
On September 23 you will have the unique opportunity to come to the Kankakee Area Career Center
and participate in three, 20-minute classroom demonstrations of your choice. Please fill out the form
found on the Google Classroom Class of 2024-Counseling. The deadline to sign up is SEPTEMBER
3rd!
Attention Class of 2024! Anyone interested in running for a class officer position (President, Vice
President, Treasure, or Secretary), please stop by W104 to pick up a petition. All petitions must be
completed and returned by TUESDAY, AUGUST 31st at 3 PM! VOTING WILL TAKE PLACE VIA
GOOGLE CLASSROOM on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 2nd! Any questions see Mrs. Bess or Mrs.
Dudek.

COUNSELING OFFICE:
Do you know how to sign up to see your counselor? It's a quick and easy google form that you can
find in many places. You can find the link on the Google Classroom Class of 2022 (2023, 2024,
2025)-Counseling. It can also be found on the BBCHS website in the Student Services tab under
Counseling.

Best Buddies signups are right around the corner! Signups will be located in the North Cafeteria.

Please bring your Chromebook or phone to complete the sign up process. Membership dues
are $15, which includes a club T-shirt!
Don't forget! If you want to register for Youth and Government, please plan on attending our first
meeting tomorrow at either 7:35 am or 3:05 pm in Ms. Youssef's room, C115.
Do you like being a good human? Do you like fun? If so, the BBCHS Gay-Straight Alliance club
is for you. We will be hosting a kick-off meeting directly after school next Friday, September 3rd
in room E101. The meeting is informational and will only last about 10 minutes. Mrs. Ravn and
Ms. Carey CANNOT WAIT to see your masked faces there!
Leo's Club - Welcome Back Boilers! If you are looking for a club that allows you to get involved
and give back to your community Leo's club is for you! Please join us for our sign ups and first
meeting of the year on Thursday, September 2 in N102 after school. Not sure what it is all
about just stop by and get some information and you can sign up later - hope to see you there!

Come join the best Math team in the school! Meet in Mr. Hampton's room, W210, after school
TUESDAY in W210
We are kicking off the year with a Best Buddies ice cream social on Friday, September 3rd
(updated) from 3:00-3:45! Best Buddies is an organization that focuses on inclusion and
acceptance of all individuals. Best Buddies pairs students with disabilities with their peers to
create meaningful friendships and memories. Keep an eye out for sign ups starting on August
31st!
Competitive robots are “the hardest fun you’ll ever have!” Come to Mr. Hampton’s room, W210
today after school to find out more about the Robotics team. Or Tuesday morning at 7:25 am.

Para el sexto grado, el ausentismo es una de las principales señales de que un estudiante
puede abandonar la escuela. Para el noveno grado, la asistencia regular es un mejor predictor
de las tasas de graduación que los puntajes de las pruebas de octavo grado. Únase a nosotros
en la campaña "Miss School, Miss Out", en conjunto con la Oficina Regional de Educación. El
