Spotlight on 6B Foco en 6B From Mr. Hernandez: I have 6B at the very beginning and end of the school day. The benefit of this is that the students have material to journal and speak about in our English Class. This week all of 6B has appreciated coming back to Room 404 after a long day of classes. They share all the marvelous adventures from the whole day in their journals and virtue circles. For them, middle school is full of shiny new things like lockers, sports after having a COVID year, and switching between classes. And it’s amazing to see their improvement from the 1st week of school to the 3rd week of school! They memorized their locker combinations, login information, and have all of their class materials ready for the whole day! Del Sr. Hernandez: Tengo 6B al principio y al final del día escolar. Altar Servers Monaguillos An altar server is a lay assistant to a member of the clergy, such as priests or deacons. The altar server helps by providing support in tasks such as carrying the cross, ringing the altar bell, or holding up the book of readings for the priest during Mass. Students who would like to become altar servers need to have made their First Holy Communion. Students should know how to genuflect correctly and either boys or girls may serve as an altar server for our SPSA weekly school Mass. Benefits of being an altar server include, learning the order of the Mass, the chance to meet new people and build self-esteem. The altar server is also helping their school community and Fr. Eduardo during Mass. If you are interested in becoming an altar server, please contact Mrs. Degelia. Outside of Room 407, there is a folder with Altar Server permission slips that will need to be filled out by the student and their parent. We will have training sessions starting soon. Un monaguillo es un asistente laico de un miembro del clero, como sacerdotes o diáconos.
