Liturgy of the Word
                                          1st Reading (Is 22: 19-23)
Thus says the LORD to Shebna, master of the palace: “I will thrust you from your office and pull you down from
your station. On that day I will summon my servant Eliakim, son of Hilkiah; I will clothe him with your robe,
and gird him with your sash, and give over to him your authority. He shall be a father to the inhabitants of
Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah. I will place the key of the House of David on Eliakim’s shoulder; when he
opens, no one shall shut when he shuts, no one shall open. I will fix him like a peg in a sure spot, to be a place
of honor for his family.”

                                      Primera lectura (Is 22: 19-23)

                             Responsorial Psalm (Ps 138: 1-2, 2-3, 6, 8)
R. Lord, your love is eternal; do not forsake the work of your hands.
I will give thanks to you, O LORD, with all my heart, The LORD is exalted, yet the lowly he sees,
for you have heard the words of my mouth; and the proud he knows from afar.
in the presence of the angels I will sing your praise;      Your kindness, O LORD, endures forever;
I will worship at your holy temple. forsake not the work of your hands.
R. Lord, your love is eternal; do not forsake the work R. Lord, your love is eternal; do not forsake the work
of your hands. of your hands.
I will give thanks to your name,
because of your kindness and your truth:
When I called, you answered me;
you built up strength within me.
R. Lord, your love is eternal; do not forsake the work
of your hands.

Salmo Responsorial (Salmo 84, 9ab-10. 11-12. 13-14 )
te adoraremos en tu templo.                                 Señor, tu amor perdura eternamente;
R. Señor, tu amor perdura eternamente. obra tuya soy, no me abandones
                                                            R. Señor, tu amor perdura eternamente.
Señor, te demos gracias
por tu lealtad y por tu amor;
siempre que te invocamos, nos oíste
y nos llenaste de valor.
R. Señor, tu amor perdura eternamente.
                                       2nd Reading (Rom 11: 33-36)
Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How inscrutable are his judgments and how
unsearchable his ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord or who has been his counselor? Or who has given the Lord
anything that he may be repaid? For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be glory forever.
Amen.
                                   Segunda lectura (Rom 11, 33-36)
                                            Gospel Acclamation
R: Alleluia, alleluia.
You are Peter and upon this rock I will build my Church and the gates of the netherworld shall not
        prevail against it.
R: Alleluia, alleluia.
                                    Aclamación antes del Evangelio
R. Aleluya, aleluya.
R. Aleluya, aleluya.

                                           Gospel (Mt 16: 13-20)
Jesus went into the region of Caesarea Philippi and he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of
Man is?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter said in reply, “You are the Christ, the Son of the
living God.” Jesus said to him in reply, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not
revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father. And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build
my church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the kingdom
of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be
loosed in heaven.” Then he strictly ordered his disciples to tell no one that he was the Christ.

Evangelio (Mt 14, 22-33)
“¿Quién dice la gente que es el Hijo del hombre?” Ellos le respondieron: “Unos dicen que eres Juan, el Bautista;

Homily
Nicene Creed
I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from
God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through
him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven,
(All bow or kneel) and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third
day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the
Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic
and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of
the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen.
Universal Prayer
     R: Lord, hear our prayer.
(Todos se inclinan) y por obra del Espíritu Santo se encarnó de Maria, la Virgen, y se hizo hombre;

Prayer of Spiritual Communion
My Jesus, I believe that You are in the Blessed Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I long for You in my
Soul. Since I cannot now receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. As though You have
already come, I embrace You and unite myself entirely to You; never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.

Communion Song: WE ARE MANY PARTS
Refrain: We are many parts, we are all one body, and the gifts we have we are given to share.
May the Spirit of love make us one indeed; one, the love that we share, one, our hope in despair,
One, the cross that we bear.
1. God of all, we look to you, we would be your servants true, let us be you love to all the world. R.
2. So my pain is pain for you, in your joy is my joy, too; all is brought together in the Lord. R.

2. The bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world, and if you ear of this bread, you shall live
Forever, you shall live forever. R.
