                AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT WORSHIP IN-PERSON
   Congregational singing unfortunately remains a significant opportunity for the spread of
 coronavirus. When you attend St. Mark’s in-person, singing is strictly limited to pre-recorded
          music & isolated singers. This is a temporary measure for public health—
                         no matter how we worship, God is praised.

Canto de Comunión |PUES SI VIVIMOS

four orphan vagabonds journeying into the unknown, crossing
paths with others who are also adrift, from struggling farmers and
traveling faith healers to displaced families and lost souls of all
kinds. On April 25 we will be discussing “The Tea Girl of
Hummingbird Lane” by Lisa See. We have a great assortment of
titles for 2021. They will be published in the bulletin, but if you
would like to see the entire list at one time just email May
Anstee. Also, if you are interested in attending any of these
discussions please contact May at (630) 247-0933 or m-

In-Person Worship Capacity Increases to 80!
We are hosting a “hybrid” church service for both virtual and in-person attendance at 10:30 am
and 1:00 pm each week. There is currently a limit of 80 people attending in person, and
reservations should be made at this link: https://rsvp.church/r/S2FhgTLOnk: We will continue
with this hybrid service as circumstances allow. As before, masks must be worn, and social
distancing observed. Communion will be offered but there is no in-person singing in church

Exploring Our Theological Heritage, Thursday at 7:30 pm
Our class meets on Zoom on Thursday evenings, except for Holy Days and holidays, from 7:30
pm to 8:45 pm. We have been working our way through the early (first through fourth century
AD) theologians of the "patristic period," understanding how they developed the "orthodox"
faith, battled many early heresies like Gnosticism, Arianism and Marcionism, and created early
liturgical documents like the Nicene Creed. In January we will visit Gregory Nazianzus, one of
the three Cappadocian Fathers of the fourth century who were instrumental in shaping our
foundational beliefs, especially our understanding of the Trinity. We have lively and far-ranging
discussions as we explore our theological heritage together. You are welcome to join our
class! Please contact Fuad Saba at fuad.saba@sbcglobal.net or call him at (630) 567-1380 if
you're interested, so he can send you some background information as well as the Zoom link.

Glen Ellyn Food Pantry
GLEN ELLYN PANTRY MAKES CAMPAIGN GOAL: With amazing support from the
community, Glen Ellyn Food Pantry has
reached its campaign goal of $900,000 for the
transformation of the 100-year-old parsonage
of Faith Lutheran Church in Glen Ellyn to
become its new headquarters. The relocation
from inside Grace Lutheran Church, where it
was founded by a youth group in 1979, to a
larger, dedicated building is necessary to
support the growing number of neighbors
who rely on the Pantry for groceries and
services. The Village of Glen Ellyn Board
unanimously approved building plans at its
February meeting and Green Light Builders
of Lombard, with three generations of experience, was selected to do the construction scheduled
for completion by the end of the year. A $50,000 match by the JCS Arts, Health and Education

A Rule for Lent
                   (and all seasons)

    Fast from criticism, and feast on praise;

      Fast from self-pity, and feast on joy;

Fast from resentment, and feast on contentment;

   Fast from jealousy, and feast on humility;

       Fast from pride, and feast on love;

   Fast from selfishness, and feast on service;

       Fast from fear, and feast on faith.
