ladder set up on the earth, the top of it reaching to heaven; and the angels of God
were ascending and descending on it. And the Lord stood beside him and said, “I am
the Lord, the God of Abraham your father and the God of Isaac; the land on which
you lie I will give to you and to your offspring; and your offspring shall be like the
dust of the earth, and you shall spread abroad to the west and to the east and to the
north and to the south; and all the families of the earth shall be blessed in you and in

el cielo. Así que fue expulsado el gran dragón, aquella serpiente antigua que se llama

¡Gloria a ti, Cristo Señor!
Cuando Jesús vio acercarse a Natanael, dijo: —Aquí viene un verdadero israelita, en quien
no hay engaño.
Natanael le preguntó: —¿Cómo es que me conoces?
Jesús le respondió: —Te vi antes que Felipe te llamara, cuando estabas debajo de la
higuera.
Natanael le dijo: —Maestro, ¡tú eres el Hijo de Dios, tú eres el Rey de Israel!
Jesús le contestó: —¿Me crees solamente porque te he dicho que te vi debajo de la

11Holy and gracious Father: In your infinite love you made us for yourself, and, when we had fallen into sin and become subject to evil and death, you, in your mercy, sent Jesus Christ, your only and eternal Son, to share our human nature, to live and die as one of us, to reconcile us to you, the God and Father of all.
