De Nuestro Párroco Mi Querida Familia Parroquial, Hoy es el Domingo de la Divina Misericordia. Entre los frutos principales de la resurrección de Jesucristo está el don del amor misericordioso de Dios para todos. Cada uno de nosotros puede tener acceso a la misericordia de Dios ya que Cristo, resucitado de entre los muertos, ha derrotado al Mal y su tentación al pecado. En cierto sentido, el misterio de la misericordia de Dios está íntimamente conectado y basado en el misterio Pascual del Hijo de Dios; su pasión por él, muerte y resurrección por él. Es por eso que la Iglesia celebra el Domingo de la Divina Misericordia el domingo siguiente al Domingo de Resurrección. El Domingo de la Divina Misericordia celebramos el hecho de que el mérito de la Pasión, Muerte y Resurrección de Jesucristo es el derramamiento de la misericordia de Dios. Sin embargo, al celebrar este misterio insondable de nuestra fe, también debemos reconocer rápidamente que la misericordia de Dios no es solo un regalo para celebrar, sino también una tarea que debemos perseguir. Mientras vivamos en este mundo, tenemos la responsabilidad de seguir valiéndonos del amor misericordioso de Dios y de conformarnos a su voluntad divina para con él. Es por la importancia de esta conexión que opté por colocar una imagen de la Divina Misericordia en la iglesia en el nicho junto a los confesionarios. Siempre debe recordarnos que tenemos la obligación de invocar Su divina misericordia en nuestras vidas para nuestra salvación y la salvación del mundo entero. La Coronilla de la Divina Misericordia resume bellamente esta conexión en esta oración: Padre Eterno, yo te ofrezco el Cuerpo y la Sangre, el Alma y la Divinidad de Tu Amado Hijo, Nuestro Señor Jesucristo, en expiación por nuestros pecados y los del mundo entero. En este Domingo de la Divina Misericordia, los invito a rezar la coronilla a la Divina Misericordia en familia o individualmente y que el Espíritu de Dios nos ayude a profesar con valentía el estribillo que captura el misterio de su misericordia y amor de él: Jesús, yo confió en ti! Además, aprovecho esta oportunidad para extender nuestras más cálidas felicitaciones a todos aquellos que recibieron los sacramentos durante esta Pascua. Su fe enriquece a nuestra familia parroquial y estamos agradecidos con ustedes y sus familias por su devoción y constancia en la fe. También estoy sinceramente agradecido a todo el personal, catequistas y padrinos que los acompañaron en este viaje. Oro para que Dios recompense abundantemente sus sacrificios. ¡Ténganlos presentes a todos en sus oraciones! En una nota diferente, a medida que más y más personas continúan recibiendo la vacuna COVID-19, parece que tenemos una sensación de calma y tranquilidad. Tengo la esperanza de que volvamos a la normalidad lo antes posible, para que podamos abrir las iglesias completamente de nuevo a todos nuestros eventos y ministerios litúrgicos. My dear parish family,
Today is Divine Mercy Sunday. Among the primary fruits of the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the gift
of God’s merciful love to all. Each one of us is able to have access to God’s mercy since Christ,
raised from the dead, has defeated the Evil One and his lure of sin. In a sense, the mystery of God’s
mercy is intimately connected and grounded in the Paschal mystery of the Son of God; his
passion, death and resurrection. It is for this reason that the Church celebrates Divine Mercy
Sunday on the Sunday following Easter Sunday. On Divine Mercy Sunday we celebrate the fact
that the merit of the Passion, Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the outpouring of God’s
mercy.
However, as we celebrate this unfathomable mystery of our faith, we must also be quick to
recognize that God’s Mercy is not only a gift to be celebrated but also a task to be pursued. As
long as we live in this world, we have the responsibility to continue to avail ourselves to God’s
merciful love and to conform ourselves to his divine will. It is due to the importance of this
connection that I chose to place an image of the Divine Mercy in the church in the niche next to
the confessionals. It must always remind us that we have an obligation to invoke His divine mercy
in our lives for our salvation and the salvation of the whole world. The Chaplet of Divine Mercy
summarizes this connection beautifully in this prayer: Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood,
Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and
those of the whole world.
On this Divine Mercy Sunday, I urge you to pray the chaplet of Divine Mercy as a family or as
individuals and may God’s Spirit help us to profess boldly the refrain that captures the mystery of
His mercy and love: Jesus, I trust in you!
In addition, I take this opportunity to extend our warmest congratulations to all those who received
sacraments this Easter. Your faith enriches our parish family and we are grateful to you and your
families for your devotion and constancy in the faith. I am also sincerely grateful to all the staff,
catechists and sponsors who accompanied them on this journey. I pray that God will richly reward
your sacrifices. Keep them all in your prayers!
On a different note, as more and more people continue to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, we
seem to be returning to a sense of calm and a place of reassurance. It is my hope that we return
to normal as soon as possible, so that we can open up the churches fully again to all of our
liturgical events and ministries. Like many of you, I truly look forward to that day with great
eagerness and anticipation. In the meantime, we shall continue to take all the necessary
precautions to ensure everyone’s safety and protection. Until
further notice, we shall continue to sanitize the church after
every Mass; we will continue to maintain social distancing;
and please use sanitization stations in the narthex and
hallways and have your mask on at all times.

Forgiveness of Neighbor
Jesus appears in the very midst of fear—doors closed and locked. He enters and embraces all
who are there with the greeting of peace that he offers several times. How often are we like
the disciples? Do we lock ourselves up in fear and refuse to go out? Do we refuse to let
anyone in? It is when we are afraid to go our and when we fear to let others enter that we
ultimately create separation and breakdown of relationships. Reconciliation requires that we
break down the boundaries that separate and divide. It is then that we will truly experience the
true peace that Jesus comes to offer completely, totally, and freely. But in order for peace and
reconciliation to occur, we have to be willing, like Jesus, to show our vulnerability and our
brokenness-the path to forgiveness and reconciliation. We cannot deal with our pain and
weakness alone. Through the sacrament of holy orders the priest receives the power to forgive
sins through the sacrament of reconciliation, however, the responsibility of being about the
work of reconciliation extends to the whole community by our baptismal call. We are to be in
tune with the Spirit and freely choose to take on the mind and heart of Christ. Forgiveness is the
very foundation of community, where we allow ourselves to change and to be open to be
changed by others. Peace be with you!

Perdonar al Prójimo
Jesús aparece en medio del miedo: las puertas están cerradas y
bloqueadas. Entra y abraza a todos los que están allí con el
saludo de paz que ofrece varias veces. ¿Con qué frecuencia
somos como los discípulos? ¿Nos encerramos en el miedo y nos
negamos a salir? ¿Nos negamos a dejar entrar a alguien? Es
cuando tenemos miedo de irnos y cuando tememos dejar entrar
a otros es cuando finalmente creamos separación y ruptura en las
relaciones. La reconciliación requiere que rompamos los límites
que separan y dividen. Es entonces cuando verdaderamente
experimentaremos la verdadera paz que Jesús viene a ofrecer
completa, total y gratuitamente. Pero para que ocurra la paz y la
reconciliación, tenemos que estar dispuestos, como Jesús, a
mostrar nuestra vulnerabilidad y nuestra ruptura, el camino hacia
el perdón y la reconciliación. No podemos lidiar con nuestro dolor
y debilidad solos. A través del sacramento del orden sagrado el
sacerdote recibe el poder de perdonar los pecados a través del
sacramento de la reconciliación, sin embargo, la responsabilidad
de estar en la obra de la reconciliación se extiende a toda la
comunidad por nuestro llamado bautismal. Debemos estar en
sintonía con el Espíritu y elegir libremente asumir la mente y el
corazón de Cristo. El perdón es la base misma de la comunidad,
