Dear Friends in Christ,
This weekend we celebrate the Baptism of the Lord.
Fr. Francis Fernandez, in his series In Conversation with God, writes,
“In today’s feast we celebrate the baptism of Jesus by John in the waters of the Jordan. Though he himself
had no stain to be washed away, he wished to submit himself to this rite as he submitted himself to the
other requirements of the Law. As a human being he submitted himself to the laws that ruled and
governed the lives of the people of Israel who had been elected by God to prepare the way for the
Redeemer. John the Baptist carried out energetically his mission to prophesy and arouse a great
movement towards repentance as an immediate preparation for the coming of the Messianic Kingdom.
The Lord desired to be baptized, says St. Augustine, so that he might freely proclaim through his humility
what for us was to be a necessity.”
O my Jesus, create in me a clean heart.

The 2022 Annual Women's Care Center
Crib Club Baby Shower
January 8th — February 6th
The MGC Human Concerns committee cordially invites you to participate in our
fundraiser for the Women's Care Center. New baby items help to supply the Care
Center's store which is a valuable resource for mothers who can "purchase" needed items
with coupons earned each time she completes a class offered through Women's Care
Center.
The Women's Care Center also has started a library for Moms and babies.
Here is a list of needed items for the Crib Club Store:
— Diapers (size newborn to 4T)
— Pull-ups (2T-6T)
— New Clothing (Onesies, socks, sleepers sizes newborn to 5T)
— Baby toiletries: shampoo, lotion, diaper rash cream, baby manicure sets
— Baby bottles, pacifiers, teething toys
— Baby books
— Feeding supplies: sippy cups, spoons, bibs
— Burping pads, receiving blankets
— Diaper bags
Suggested titles for book for the new library:
— Your Pregnancy and Childbirth: Month to Month, 6th edition.
— What to Expect When You're Expecting.
— Simple and Safe Baby-Led Weaning:
How to Integrate Foods, Master Portion
Sizes, and Identify Allergies.
Monetary donations are always needed to help fund the Crib Club Store with high
chairs, strollers, car seats, as well as, ultrasounds for mothers and classes for moms and
dads.
New baby items can be placed in the crib in the display in
church. Monetary donations can be placed in the envelopes on the
display. Checks should be made to the Women's Care Center.
