JUNE 33 PRE-SCHOOL THE IMPORTANCE OF PLAYING OUTDOORS With the use of our playground area, Pre-School students are able to develop intellectually, emotionally and socially. Outdoor play also improves their motor skills. LA IMPORTANCIA DEL JUEGO AL AIRE LIBRE Con el uso de nuestro parque infantil, los alumnos de Pre-School son capaces de desarrollarse intelectual, emocional y socialmente. que podemos extraer del fútbol”.JUNE 33 David Fernandez Soccer player With only 12 years old, David has already won several tournaments with a team that he says is “his big family”. David is sure that when he grows up he will try to be a soccer player, but he will also study to be the best in his class. He would love to lead a Casvi soccer team, but in the meantime he continues to perfect his speed, power and shooting in the school’s great sports facilities. David Fernández Futbolista Con tan solo 12 años David ya ha ganado varios torneos con un equipo que dice ser “su gran familia”. David lo tiene claro, de mayor va a intentar ser futbolista, pero además estudiará para ser el mejor de su promoción. Le encantaría liderar un equipo de fútbol Casvi, pero mientras sigue perfeccionando su velocidad, potencia y tiros en las grandes instalaciones deportivas del colegio.
JUNE 33 Where does your passion for soccer come from? My love for soccer comes from my brother. I’ve always loved going to watch him train and play, and he actually does great. Eventually that led me to sign up for a team and start learning more and more about the sport every day. ¿Dónde nace tu pasión por el fútbol? Mi amor por el fútbol nace de mi hermano. Siempre me ha gustado mucho ir a verle entrenar y jugar, y de hecho lo hace genial. Al final eso me llevó a inscribirme en un equipo y empezar a aprender cada día más sobre este deporte.
JUNE 33 Where did you learn all these techniques? Some of the techniques I have tried to do on my own here at the school soccer field. Also my coaches have helped me a lot to develop all these disciplines. Playing here at school I discovered a teammate who played great and I always wanted to be like him. That has also helped me a lot to become better and better at this sport. ¿Dónde has aprendido todas esas técnicas? Algunas de las técnicas las he intentado hacer por mí solo aquí en el campo de futbol del colegio. También mis entrenadores me han ayudado mucho a desarrollar todas estas disciplinas. Jugando aquí en el colegio descubrí un compañero que jugaba genial y siempre quería parecerme a él. Eso también me ha ayudado mucho a ser cada vez mejor en este deporte.
JUNE 33 Does Casvi help you to develop all this talent? I tend to play a lot on the soccer field. In that sense, the fact that the school has a special area for this sport is very useful for me. In addition, the teachers also help me a lot, with them I can improve my dribbling, power and shots. Mr. Cuellar knows a lot about different types of sports, and he always helps me a lot. ¿Casvi te ayuda a potenciar todo este talento? Suelo jugar mucho en el campo de fútbol. En ese sentido que el cole tenga un área especial para este deporte es muy útil para mí. Además, los profesores también me ayudan mucho, con ellos potencio mucho mis regates, potencia y tiros. Mr. Cuéllar sabe mucho de diferentes tipos de deportes, y él siempre me ayuda mucho.
JUNE 33 Who is your source of inspiration and why? My biggest source of inspiration was one of my coaches. To this day I still go to train with him, even though he is no longer my main coach. For me he is an example to follow, because despite not having had a good personal situation, having suffered different injuries, he has always been able to find a way to continue with soccer, and that seems to me an example of overcoming and love for soccer. ¿Quién es tu fuente de inspiración y por qué? Mi mayor fuente de inspiración fue uno de mis entrenadores. A día de hoy sigo yendo a entrenar con él, aunque ya no sea mi principal entrenador. Para mí él es un ejemplo a seguir, porque a pesar de no haber tenido una buena situación personal, haber sufrido diferentes lesiones, él siempre ha sabido buscar la forma de seguir con el fútbol, y a mí eso me parece un ejemplo de superación y de amor por el fútbol.
JUNE 33 What does soccer mean to you? Soccer transmits me a lot of happiness. Every time I kick the ball I feel like I’m overcoming myself and that makes me feel calm and happy. The teachers help me a lot to be better every day, and to be aware that this sport can also instill in us many values such as teamwork, responsibility to know how to manage my study and training time and perseverance. With them, we are aware of the numerous values that we can get from soccer. ¿Qué significa para ti el fútbol? El fútbol me transmite muchísima felicidad. Cada vez que le doy una patada al balón siento que me supero a mí mismo y eso me transmite calma y felicidad. Los profesores me ayudan mucho para que cada día sea mejor, y para ser consciente de que este deporte también nos puede inculcar muchos valores como compañerismo, responsabilidad para saber manejar mi tiempo de estudio y entreno, y la constancia. Con ellos, somos conscientes de la cantidad de valores que podemos extraer del fútbol.
JUNE 33 Would you like to continue professionalizing in this sport in the future, or do you have other goals in mind? I don’t see a way without soccer. Although I know that it is very difficult to be a soccer player, I am going to do my best to achieve this dream, but always without losing sight of my studies, because they are the ones that will give me the values I need in my life. ¿Te gustaría seguir profesionalizándote en este deporte en un futuro, o tienes otros objetivos en mente? No veo un camino sin el fútbol. Aunque sé que es muy difícil ser futbolista, me voy a esforzar lo máximo posible en poder alcanzar este sueño, pero siempre sin perder de vista mis estudios, porque son los que me van a aportar los valores que necesito en mi vida.
JUNE 33 VIDEO OF THE MONTH VÍDEO DEL MES MULTILINGUALISM AND ITS EFFECT ON COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT Thanks to the IB methodology and the study of different languages, our students become real communicators and inquirers. Through transdisciplinary tools, Casvi students not only learn new cultures, but the acquisition of new languages fosters the development of their memory, problem-solving, or even planning, creating more sophisticated and unique brain functions. EL PLURILINGÜISMO Y SU EFECTO EN EL DESARROLLO COGNITIVO Gracias a la metodología IB y al estudio de diferentes idiomas, nuestros alumnos se convierten en verdaderos comunicadores e investigadores. A través de herramientas transdisciplinares, los alumnos de Casvi no sólo aprenden nuevas culturas, sino que la adquisición de nuevos idiomas fomenta el desarrollo de su memoria, la resolución de problemas o incluso la planificación, creando funciones cerebrales más sofisticadas y únicas.
