April 27, 2021 AVS SAFETY DRILLS HAPPENING THIS MONTH!
Dear Parents,
Even though we have about five weeks left in our school year, I wanted to let you know that over the
next couple of days we will be engaging all of our students and staff in our annual schoolwide safety
drills; Earthquake, Fire, and Lockdown. These drills are typically held within the first month of
school, but due to the way our school year unfolded, we are practicing them now. Last week we
practiced our “duck and cover” Earthquake drill, and today we successfully completed a schoolwide
Fire drill. Later this week, we will also be practicing our Lockdown drill. Please check in with your
son or daughter on how they felt the safety drills went!
AVS continues to be a very safe place for our children to learn and grow. Our caring and alert staff
take their role seriously when it comes to the safety and well-being of your child. That being said, in
the rare event that we were to ever experience an unfortunate event which required our students to be
evacuated, you need to be informed annually on those procedures.
AVS STUDENT EVACUATION~PARENT REUNIFICATION PROCEDURES
In the event we had to evacuate students from AVS, you would receive a Home Alert message via
text/phone stating students are being evacuated. Check local road conditions via radio/social media
to ensure your safety to-from AVS to secure your child. Our Home Alert System is programmed to
the 1st number-submitted on your emergency card. If your number has changed, please notify us.
PARENT EVACUATION ARRIVAL INFORMATION
Our front parking lot will be blocked off for emergency vehicle access only. Signage will direct
parents to enter the dirt road side access lane near school entry. Parents will drive down side access
lane where they will reach the Student Check out station. Here, each parent will need to show picture
ID (we would only release students to whomever is on the emergency card, no exceptions). Students
will be released by a staff member at back field gate. Parents will continue east on the lane after
securing their child and exit on to Hwy 128. If you have any questions re: our annual emergency

27 de abril, 2021 ¡SIMULACROS DE SEGURIDADN EN AVS ESTE MES!
Estimados padres,
Aunque nos quedan alrededor de cinco semanas en nuestro año escolar, quería informarles que durante los
próximos días estaremos involucrando a todos nuestros estudiantes y personal en nuestros simulacros
anuales de seguridad en toda la escuela; Terremoto, incendio y cierre. Estos simulacros generalmente se
llevan a cabo durante el primer mes de clases, pero debido a la forma en que se desarrolló nuestro año
escolar, los estamos practicando ahora. La semana pasada practicamos nuestro simulacro de terremoto
"agacharse y cubrirse" y hoy completamos con éxito un simulacro de incendio en toda la escuela. Más
adelante esta semana, también practicaremos nuestro simulacro de encierro. Por favor, consulte con su
hijo o hija cómo se sintieron en los simulacros de seguridad.
AVS sigue siendo un lugar muy seguro para que nuestros niños aprendan y crezcan. Nuestro personal
atento y alerta se toma muy en serio su papel cuando se trata de la seguridad y el bienestar de su hijo.
Dicho esto, por el raro caso de que experimentemos un evento desafortunado que requiera la evacuación
de nuestros estudiantes, usted debe ser informado anualmente sobre esos procedimientos.
EVACUACIÓN DE ESTUDIANTES ~ MANERA DE REUNIFICACIÓN DE PADRES
En el caso de que tuviéramos que evacuar a los estudiantes de AVS, usted recibiría un mensaje de Alerta
de Hogar por texto / teléfono indicando que los estudiantes están siendo evacuados. Verifique las
condiciones de la carretera local a través de la radio / redes sociales para garantizar su seguridad desde y
hacia AVS para proteger a su hijo. Nuestro sistema de alerta domiciliaria está programado para el primer
número enviado en su tarjeta de emergencia. Si su número ha cambiado, avísenos.
INFORMACIÓN DE LLEGADA A LA EVACUACIÓN DE LOS PADRES
Nuestro estacionamiento delantero estará bloqueado solo para el acceso de vehículos de emergencia. La
señalización indicará a los padres que ingresen al carril de acceso del lado del camino de tierra cerca de la
entrada de la escuela. Los padres conducirán por el carril de acceso lateral donde llegarán a la estación de
Salida de Estudiantes. Aquí, cada padre deberá mostrar una identificación con foto (solo entregaremos a
los estudiantes a quien esté en la tarjeta de emergencia, sin excepciones). Un miembro del personal dejará a
los estudiantes en la puerta trasera del campo. Los padres continuarán hacia el este en el carril después de
