Now, how good are you at critical thinking, do you think? Could you at 17 or 18 years old have coped with these
questions- see below - that challenge your assumptions and invite you to see the world from multiple
perspectives and lenses? I'm not sure I could have at their age, I even struggle now! But this is what our
Diploma students are asked to do and no wonder universities globally like IB Diploma graduates, as effectively
they are working at undergraduate level prior to university entrance. Have a go at making a rough attempt at

We welcomed our doors again to receive Marianne Valentine this week in our school who is
a true expert in Early Years (EY) development. Marianne worked with us on the design of our
new EY centre and has been working extensively with our team on how to make the best use
of our new spaces. She was really excited to see how these new environments are
supporting the teaching and learning.

News to celebrate, our students Isara, Talia (both from Diploma 1), Kyrill (3rd MP), and
Maryana (Head Girl and Diploma 2), have all been accepted to the international student
committees that Inspired has created to foment student leadership. It is quite an honour to
be on these committees as our students were up against other candidates from a possible
pool of 50,000 other students across 5 continents and in over 70 Inspired schools. Well done
to them and best of luck as they begin the delicate art of leadership!
Noticias para celebrar, nuestros estudiantes Isara, Talia (ambos del Diploma 1), Kyrill (3er MP)
y Maryana (Head Girl y Diploma 2), han sido aceptados en los comités de estudiantes
internacionales que Inspired ha creado para fomentar el liderazgo estudiantil. Es un gran
honor estar en estos comités, ya que nuestros estudiantes se enfrentaron a otros candidatos
de un posible grupo de otros 50.000 estudiantes en los 5 continentes y en más de 70
escuelas Inspired. ¡Enhorabuena a ellos y mucha suerte en sus inicios en el delicado arte del
liderazgo!
This week we have had our first CAS experience in PYP thanks to our librarians and 2
students from Diploma. These students joined our 6th PYP in an activity as they are from
China so were able to give us their expert insight.
It was on the transdisciplinary topic of who we are in which they are looking into different
communities and current cultural aspects.
Thanks to their explanations, songs and activities our students aged 8 came to the
conclusion that culture is formed by many elements be it food, art, flags or language as
well as traditions, festivals and routines: these are present throughout the world in
children's games and songs.
Esta semana hemos tenido nuestra primera experiencia CAS PEP gracias a nuestros
bibliotecarios Mario y Manuel y a los alumnos de Diploma Ande y Linda. Estos alumnos han
participado junto con los alumnos de 6º PEP en una actividad como expertos en cultura
China.
Los alumnos de 6º PEP, dentro del tema transdisciplinar “Quiénes somos”, están
indagando sobre diferentes comunidades y aspectos culturales en la actualidad.
Gracias a las explicaciones, canciones y actividades planteadas por Ande y Linda nuestros
alumnos de 8 años han llegado a la conclusión que la cultura, además de ser comidas,
arte, banderas o lengua, son tradiciones, fiestas y rutinas diarias que tenemos en común
en el mundo como juegos o canciones infantiles.
During this month we have started the programme of Healthy Classroom (PSHCE)
Students in their respective year groups- from 6th PYP to 2nd of Diploma received
the opening classes from the module on relationship education. In these modules we
adapt the contents to our context and the development of our students according to
their particular age.
We were very lucky to have a visiting speaker from the Institute of Development and
Self, who is a gynecologist and expert in this field. as well as the support of our
counsellor Vanesa Rojo de Miguel and finally (but not least) our nurse Leticia Mateo-
Sagasta del Arco.
Durante este mes de octubre iniciamos el programa de Aula salud. Los alumnos
desde 6º PEP a 2º DIP, han recibido las primeras sesiones del módulo afectivo sexual
con contenidos adaptados al desarrollo del alumno y las distintas etapas.
Para ello hemos contado con la experiencia de distintos expertos: la ponente externa
del Instituto de Desarrollo y Persona, una ginecóloga experta en anticoncepción,
salud sexual y reproductiva, y también con el departamento de orientación del
colegio, de las manos de Vanesa Rojo y finalmente del departamento de atención
sanitaria y educación para la salud con Leticia Mateo-Sagasta.It was a very spooky Halloween day last Friday 29th! We celebrated it by wearing costumes,
playing and singing Halloween songs, making arts and crafts and playing funny games! Even if the
weather was not our best friend, it was a great day full of funny and “terrifying” experiences.

¡Fue un día de Halloween muy espeluznante el que celebramos el pasado viernes 29 de octubre!
Nos disfrazamos y lo celebramos cantando, tocando canciones de miedo, haciendo
manualidades y jugando juegos divertidos. A pesar de que el tiempo no nos acompañó aquella
tarde nos lo pasamos en grande ya que fue un día lleno de experiencias divertidas y
“aterradoras”. Echa un vistazo a nuestros disfraces! ¿No son fabulosos?HALLOWEEN PARTY in the BOARDING HOUSE
This weekend we celebrated Halloween with a terrifying dinner, but full of funny moments,
costumes that were very scary for some and others that provoked laughter and where the
boys delighted us with a flash dance to show us their costumes.
It was a very fun night, where we were able to taste a horrifying menu consisting of
sausages, hamburgers with cheese skins and a terrifying pumpkin pie and when we
finished filling our stomachs, we sang and danced in a karaoke, some of the students'
voices were unfortunately pretty scary. To end the night, there was a horror movie all
together in the auditorium.
A great night, thanks to the involvement of the boys, and so we all had a terrifyingly fun
time.
Este fin de semana hemos celebrado Halloween con una cena terrorífica, pero cargada de
momentos divertidos, disfraces que daban mucho miedo algunos y mucha risa otros y
donde los chicos nos deleitaron un baile tipo flash dance para mostrarnos sus disfraces.
Fue una noche muy divertida, donde pudimos degustar un menú horripilante compuesto
por Salchimomias, Hambursesos con piel de queso y una tarta calabaza terrorífica y
cuando acabamos de llenar el estómago, para bajar la comilona, cantamos y bailamos en
un karaoke, donde alguno, su voz daba bastante miedo. Para acabar la noche, no faltó
una película de terror todos juntos en el salón de actos.
Una gran noche, que gracias a la predisposición de los chicos, la pasamos
terroríficamente divertida.También puede leer
