Dios todavía nos habla hoy. El Espíritu de la verdad no deja de hablar, nos hace
entrar cada vez más en el sentido de las palabras de Jesús. Es la novedad del
Evangelio, de una Palabra viva, porque el cristianismo, como dice el Catecismo
de la Iglesia Católica. , no es una "religión del Libro", "una palabra escrita y mu-
da", sino de la Palabra de Dios, es decir, el Verbo encarnado y vivo. “La
novedad siempre nos asusta un poco, porque nos sentimos más seguros si lo
tenemos todo bajo control, si somos nosotros los que construimos, planifi-
camos, planificamos nuestra vida según nuestros esquemas, nuestras certezas, nuestros gustos. Y
esto también sucede con Dios, muchas veces lo seguimos, lo acogemos, pero hasta cierto punto;
nos cuesta abandonarnos a Él con plena confianza, dejando que el Espíritu Santo sea el alma, la
guía de nuestra vida, en todas nuestras elecciones; tenemos miedo de que Dios nos haga recorrer
nuevos caminos, nos haga dejar nuestro horizonte a menudo limitado, cerrado, egoísta, para
abrirnos a sus horizontes. Pero, en toda la historia de la salvación, cuando Dios se revela trae
novedad ... transforma y pide confiar plenamente en él " Resistencia al Espíritu Santo: la tentación
de domesticarlo. “La tentación de resistir al Espíritu Santo está siempre presente en nosotros,
porque trastorna, porque mueve, nos hace caminar, empuja a la Iglesia a seguir adelante. Y siem-
pre es más fácil y cómodo reclinarse en una posición estática y sin cambios. En realidad, la Iglesia
se muestra fiel al Espíritu Santo en la medida en que no pretende regularlo y domesticarlo. Y la
Iglesia se muestra fiel al Espíritu Santo incluso cuando deja de lado la tentación de mirarse. Y los
cristianos nos convertimos en auténticos discípulos misioneros, capaces de cuestionar las con-
ciencias, si abandonamos el estilo defensivo para dejarnos llevar por el Espíritu. Es frescura, fan-
tasía "que" no llena tanto la mente de ideas, sino que enciende el corazón "y empuja hacia" un
servicio de amor, un lenguaje que todos sean capaces de entender " La misión es llevar el gozo
del Espíritu al mundo. Sin el Espíritu Santo no hay misión. De hecho, la misión no es nuestro tra-
bajo, es un regalo. La Iglesia necesita evangelizadores que se abran "sin miedo a la acción del Es-
píritu Santo" que "infunde la fuerza para anunciar la novedad del Evangelio con audacia
(parresía), en voz alta y en todo momento y lugar, incluso a contracorriente". Se trata de evange-
lizadores que son conscientes de que "la misión es una pasión por Jesús pero, al
mismo tiempo, es una pasión por su pueblo" (EG 268). Jesús quiere "que
toquemos la carne que sufre de los demás" (EG 270). “En nuestra relación con el
mundo se nos invita a dar razones de nuestra esperanza, pero no como enemi-
gos que señalan con el dedo y condenan” (EG 271). "Sólo puede ser misionero
quien se sienta bien buscando el bien del prójimo, que desee la felicidad de los
demás" (EG 272): "si puedo ayudar a una persona a vivir mejor, esto ya es sufi-
ciente para justificar el don de mi vida ”(EG 274). La alegría, la paz, el amor son
frutos del Espíritu.

God still speaks to us today. The Spirit of truth does not stop
speaking, he makes us enter ever more fully into the mean-
ing of Jesus' words. It is the newness of the Gospel, of an ev-
er-living Word, because Christianity, as the Catechism of the
Catholic Church says, is not a " religion of the Book ”,“ a
written and mute word ”, but of the Word of God, that is, the incarnate and living Word. "The nov-
elty always scares us a little, because we feel safer if we have everything under control, if we are
the ones who build, plan, plan our lives according to our schemes, our certainties, our tastes. And
this also happens with God. Often we follow him, we welcome him, but up to a certain point; it is
difficult for us to abandon ourselves to him with full trust, letting the Holy Spirit be the soul, the
guide of our life, in all our choices; we are afraid that God will make us take new paths, will make

whole history of salvation, when God reveals himself he brings newness ... he transforms and asks

tion to resist the Holy Spirit is always present in us, because it upsets, because it moves, makes us
walk, pushes the Church to move forward. And it is always easier and more comfortable to recline
in one's static and unchanged positions. In reality, the Church shows herself faithful to the Holy
Spirit to the extent that she does not claim to regulate and domesticate him. And the Church

self. And we Christians become authentic missionary disciples, capable of questioning conscienc-

ple" (EG 268). Jesus wants "that we touch the suffering flesh of others" (EG 270). “In our relation-
ship with the world we are invited to give reasons for our hope, but not as enemies who point the
finger and condemn” (EG 271). "Only those who
feel good in seeking the good of their neighbor can
be a missionary, who desires the happiness of oth-
ers" (EG 272): "if I can help one person to live
better, this is already enough to justify the gift of
my life "(EG 274). Joy, peace, love are fruits of the
Spirit.
