Parish Update
November is the month dedicated to the Holy Souls in
Purgatory. Why are they called "Holy Souls" when they
are not yet in Heaven? It is because these fortunate
souls know that their time in Purgatory is going to end,
and that, once the purgation of sin is complete, they will
join God, the angels, and the Saints in Heaven.
Purgatory is real - Jesus Himself told us that it is real.
Although no one wants to suffer the pains of
Purgatory, be thankful that God has provided this
merciful way to purify our souls to get us ready to
enter into eternal salvation and be with Him!

To honor all the men and women veterans who served our country, St Mary Church wants
to recognize with a special Mass and Blessing for their commitment and service to our
country.
At the 8:00 am Mass on November 11, we are inviting all veterans and their families
to participate in this celebration. We ask that you provide photos of your veterans,
encourage them to attend Mass and help us pray the Patriotic Rosary right after Mass.
We will need veterans as volunteers to help as Lector, Eucharistic Ministers, and/or
Hospitality Ministers. If the veterans can still fit into their uniform, please encourage
them to wear them as well.
We will provide transportation for those in need to and from St. Mary and will hold a
light breakfast with a photo/video montage in the hall after the Patriotic Rosary. All are welcome!

40 Days for Life Campaign
Alma and Ed Reyes recently founded the 40 Days for
Life chapter in Escondido, and completed the 2021
Rosary Campaign with much success. Alma said "We
have had a wonderful turnout and tremendous
support. We tried to capture people from the
surrounding churches/ organizations to include Pastor
Jeffrey Horn from Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Father
Luke Jauregui from St. Stephen's Parish in Valley
Center, the Lamb of God organization and the COLFS
Youth ministry." Many St. Mary parishioners also
participated - rain or shine!
Congratulations to all who took an active role in
helping protect our innocents.
