VACCINATION PERCENTAGE RATE
WEST END AND SAN BERNARDINO VICARIATES
The Table below has a message for some of the parishes where the vaccination rates are low. The parish-
es (yellow highlight) are in the ‘highrisk’ zip code ID for less than 25% vaccination rates. The problem
with this is that parishes in yellow may continue to keep the mask requirement and other stringent
requirements after the full reopening until such a time when their zip code exceeds 35% vaccination
ratemodicum risk.

ReOpening Guidelines for Worship
Effective June 19, 2021, all parishes within the
Diocese of San Bernardino may operate under the
sacramental/liturgical/worship guidelines contained
as follows:
1. Vaccinated persons may not wear masks in
Church.
2. Ushers/volunteers/extraordinary ministers of the
Eucharist are strongly encouraged to wear masks
when serving.
3. Those serving Communion may now say: “The
Body of Christ” to each communicant who then
responds, “Amen.”
4. Altar Servers can resume ± no restriction.
5. Bulletins: No restrictions
6. Hospitality: No selfhelp; servers continue to
wear masks and gloves.
7. Physical Distance: Three (3) feet separation rec-
ommended.
8. Offertory: No restrictions
9. Our Father Recitation: Refrain from holding
hands with the other person.
10. Private Prayer/Devotion: No restrictions
11. Recessional: No restrictions
12. Sign of Peace: Permitted without any physical
contract or touching.
13. Singing by Cantors: No restrictions
14. Singing by Choirs: No restrictions
15. Singing by Assembly: No restrictions
16. Visits to Homebound: Permitted
17. Votive Candles: No restrictions
18. Weddings: No restrictions
Given these relaxed reopening standards, it is of
critical importance that when any parishioner or
parishioners are ill, or if a member of their household
is ill that such a person or persons should remain at
home, and not come to any Church celebrations until
they become well. This is to be taken seriously as
the pandemic continues to threaten certain communi-
ties within Riverside and San Bernardino counties.
