St. Joseph. Husband of the Virgin Mary. Patron of the Universal Church
St Joseph was a righteous and faithful man, as narrated by the Gospel of Ma hew
(1:19). God chose him to be the caretaker and protector of the Holy Family: his wife Mary and
Jesus, the Son of the living God. His lineage connects Jesus, the Messianic King, with the
descendants of King David. St. Joseph is also called the Saint of Silence.
Tradi on has it that St Joseph was always at the side of Jesus and Mary with great
faith, in which he always acted with obedience, accep ng the will of God's plans.
St. Joseph prepared the cradle in that poor stable in which Jesus was born, saved his
family in Egypt when it was necessary, cared and went out in search of Jesus when he
disappeared and found him in the temple at the age of twelve; He was next to him in his work as
a carpenter, and along with Mary helped Him grow in wisdom, age, and grace.
The celebra on of St. Joseph has very deep roots. Joseph is the last of the patriarchs to
receive visits from the Lord through one of the most humble forms: through dreams.
St. Joseph, Mary's husband and the puta ve father of Jesus, had the mission of guiding
the Holy Family in their flight to Egypt through the desert and also back. Pius IX declared him patron
of the universal Church and John XXIII later included his name in the Roman Canon.
Joseph's name is of Hebrew origin and means "God helps me," and that was widely
demonstrated in the history of salva on. Without a doubt, he was the faithful example of what a

Probably, just before the Son of Man began his public life, St. Joseph dies in peace on March

San José, esposo de María y padre puta vo de Jesús, tuvo la misión de guiar a la Sagrada
Familia en su huida a Egipto a través del desiero y también de regreso. Pio IX lo declaró patrono de la
Iglesia universal y Juan XXIII más tarde, incluyó su nombre en el Canon Romano.
El nombre de José es de origen hebreo y significa “Dios me ayuda”, y eso si
que se demostró ampliamente en la historia de Salvación. Sin duda, fue
el fiel ejemplo de lo que debe ser un padre puta vo.

Keep in mind when coming to Mass
Our Churches in the Archdiocese of Newark, and our own Parish of St. Joseph’s of the
Palisades:
• Fully in accord with the direc ves of our governor of New Jersey, and our Archbishop Cardinal
Tobin the following are the guidelines in order to a end Mass and ensure that our church building is
safe for all.
Daily Mass:
With strict guidelines, and if fully prepared to do so, parishes of the Archdiocese, may open churches with the
required guidelines:
1. Not more than 150 people may a end Mass at any one me.
2. All must wear masks;
3. All must maintain six feet of separa on from one another;
4. Communion distributed only in the hand.
5. Those who may be vulnerable to the virus, those 60+ years old, recently or chronically ill, etc., encouraged to
stay home and view Mass through social media.
• HERE AT ST. JOSEPH’S: Daily Mass for limited numbers of people:
English Mass at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday
Spanish Mass at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday, and Saturday at 9:00 a.m., Daily at 7:00 p.m.
Note: We suggest early arrival; when 150 people have arrived the doors must be closed.

Tener en cuenta para asisi r a las Misas
Nuestras Iglesias en la Arquidiócesis de Newark y nuestra propia Parroquia de San José de
las Palisades:
De acuerdo con las direc vas de nuestro gobernador de Nueva Jersey, y nuestro Arzobispo Cardenal
Tobin, las siguientes son las pautas para asis r a la misa y asegurar que nuestro edificio de la iglesia
este seguro para todos.
• Misa Diaria
Con direc vas estrictas, y si están completamente preparadas para hacerlo, las parroquias de la Arquidiócesis, pueden
abrir.
Direc vas requeridas:
1. No más de 150 personas pueden asis r a la Misa en cualquier momento.
2. Todos deben usar máscaras;
3. Todos deben mantener seis pies de separación entre sí;
4. La comunión será distribuida solo en la mano.
5. Aquellos que pueden ser vulnerables al virus, personas mayores de 60 años, enfermos recientemente o con
enfermedades crónicas, etc., deben permanecer en casa y ver la Misa a través de las redes sociales.
