Ritos de Envió y Elección
Hoy en la misa de 1 p.m., Cintya Erazo Gomez y Jennifer Alfaro, quienes son parte del
programa R.I.C.A., participaran en el Rito de Envió. El Rito de Envió ofrece a la comunidad
parroquial la oportunidad de reconocer el progreso espiritual que han logrado los
catecúmenos, expresar la aprobación de su elección y enviarlos a la Catedral para el Rito
de Elección. Con la seguridad del cuidado y apoyo de su parroquia, ellos, junto con sus
padrinos, irán a la Catedral donde el Arzobispo José Gómez les dará la bienvenida – junto
con los catecúmenos de las otras parroquias de la Arquidiócesis de Los Ángeles – en nombre de la Iglesia
Universal. El aceptará oficialmente el deseo de los catecúmenos y los ‘elegirá’ para ser recibidos en la Iglesia
Católica en la Pascua. Escribirán sus nombres en el “Libro de los Elegidos” como una señal de que cada uno
de ellos ha sido elegido por Dios, que los llama por su nombre, los ama incondicionalmente y los reclama
como Suyos.
Cintya y Jennifer que aspiran a una nueva forma de vida en Cristo, han recibido el don
del amor de Dios. Ellas han respondido a Su llamado a la conversión y están tratando
de vivir sus vidas como Sus discípulos. Oremos para que utilicen los cuarenta días de
Cuaresma para ser aún más conscientes del amor de Dios por ellas y por Su acción en
sus vidas, mientras se preparan para recibir los sacramentos del Bautismo,
Confirmación, y Primera Eucaristía en la Vigilia Pascual.
De la misma manera, que los que ya hemos recibido el don de la fe, utilicemos los
cuarenta días de Cuaresma como una oportunidad para renovar nuestra fe y
acercarnos más a Cristo mientras nos preparamos para celebrar el misterio pascual de
Su sufrimiento, muerte y resurrección en la Pascua.
